Opening Day 8/28/09 Tigers vs The Bears

What a great opening day! Tiger goalie Kyle Kelly displayed fantastic defense making several saves while protecting his goal. Great offensive play making and passing was displayed by Tiger's Ryan Cendak, who also scored the Tiger's first goal of the season

Great Opening Day for the Tigers

Tigers

What a great opening day for the Tigers. Coach Craig and I are not only proud of how each person played, but more importantly how we played together as a team. We saw some amazing foot work, great passing and future all star goalies in the making. What a fantastic start.

I wanted to take this time again to thank the following families for helping out today:

The Frey's for the us of their Truck.
The Rees's for the yummy donuts and drinks.
The Kelly's for snacks.
The Loeber's for updating the banner.

You all help make the day special for the kids.

Opening Day Parade and Fun Festival

Opening Day Parade and Fun Festival

Saturday August 29, 2009
9:00 am – 2 p.m.

Assembly:
This year, all teams will be required to travel the parade route in a truck. This change has been made to shorten the duration of the parade and reduce the impact on downtown businesses. Teams should assemble with their coach and vehicle on Railroad Avenue (see Parade Staging Area diagram). The parade will begin from the corner of Railroad Avenue and Grant Avenue. Team trucks should line up by approaching from Olive and turning on to Railroad. Volunteers will direct team trucks. Trucks will be positioned in the parade based on their arrival times.

Team Truck Line-Up Times:
8:00 a.m. – Under 6, 7, and 8
8:20 a.m. – Under 9, 10,& 12
8:30 a.m. – under 14, 16, 19, All Upper House and Select

Players from all participating teams should arrive and find their team trucks by 8:30 a.m.

Teams should arrive on time and be dressed in full uniform except tennis shoes instead of cleats

Decorations, streamer, balloons, bubbles, pinwheels, noisemakers are highly encouraged!!!

Throwing candy or other objects to or from the trucks is strictly forbidden.

At 9:00 a.m. the parade will travel down Grant from Railroad to Virginia. At the end of the parade route, teams will be directed right on Virginia and then left into the parking lot of Our Lady of Loretto School. Team trucks will be directed into parking spaces and coaches should stay with their teams until all players have been picked up by parents. Our goal is to avoid a traffic jam on Virginia Avenue.

Parents – Please pick up your children promptly at the end of the Parade!
Coaches – You are responsible for team members until they are released to a parent

Team trucks must park at Our Lady of Loretto at the end of the parade.
Trucks may not leave this area with passengers in the bed.

Parents please park away from Railroad Avenue for drop off and outside of Our Lady of Loretto for player pick up in the suggested parking areas and walk to these locations.
No vehicles other than team trucks will be allowed into these areas.

2009 U8 Tiger Blog

Hello everyone,

Just wanted to give you the heads up, that I updated the Tigers blog for our team. At http://novatotigers.blogspot.com you will find our publicity items published. You'll also find links to the marinij's publicity pages, the Novato Advance sports section, a map to the field, as well as the Tiger's schedule.

Basically, I submit very short write ups to the papers, in hopes that our kids get published. All stories are written in a positive tone, and I rotate who gets highlighted throughout the season. Meaning, not everyone will get mentioned each game.

However, feel free to add your comments to the blog for stories of how your child did that day. You can even send me your photos/videos if you'd like to see them posted here. This site will stay up forever as long as it's free, and Google doesn't decide to shut it down one day. So have fun with it.

thanks,
Mo

2009 Soccer Season Tigers

Great practice tonight! I am very excited to start the season with the Tigers (our new team name). I do not have our game schedule yet, but once I do I will send it out ASAP.

We still need your help with a few things for this season. If you have not signed up for something please look through the list below and see if there is something that you can do.

1. Be responsible to bring the banner to and from games, including set up of the banner.
2. Donuts and drinks for opening day parade.

A reminder that August 29th is going to be a fun filled day. That morning we will have the parade down Grant Ave., pictures at Indian Valley College (IVC), and of course our first game. In addition, there will be a Fun Fest at IVC for U6, however U7 and U8 players are welcome to partake. Details are listed at the end of this email.

Please note that there will be no practice September 3rd as it is Pleasant Valley’s Open House.

Lastly, thank you to the following parents for helping out.

* Leslie for updating our Banner
* Jeanne for bringing truck decorations for the parade.
* Carol for being our snack coordinator
* Mo for doing publicity
* Gretchen for organizing the end of season party
* Jeana for the Truck for the parade

See you again this Thursday at 6pm.
